DJ HJ
A Buffalo, NY native, HJ has been following his passion for music and honing his talents for more than 10 years. Prior to live DJing, HJ stormed the likes of internet radio and podcasting.Once he was exposed to the club and rave scenes, he couldn't getenough of the beats; he was hooked immediately to the vibe, the crowd,the atmosphere, and the pure thrill of controlling the journey. In2008, HJ spawned the creation, promotion, and performance of the firstever rave/dance event at University at Buffalo’s UBCon. From there, HJhas performed in many venues in the Buffalo/Rochester NY area,including several conventions: ROCCON!, Tora-Con, and continues tohost the rave at UBCon yearly. His variety of music centers onmoombahton, dubstep and electro house – with some throwbacks toclassic retro tunes with a bit of nostalgia for video game music. Inspite of it all, however, it is only one thing that audiences trulysense when they hear HJ spin, it’s the one thing that keeps his crowdscoming back to him for more, it’s the force that keeps HJ constantlymoving forward in a world immersed in stillness: the power of music.

For the past five years, Ru has been performing at dance events for numerous conventions throughout the Northeast, from big names like Katsucon and AnimeNEXT to his hometown favorites Tora-Con and UBCon. His style unites the sounds of EDM festivals and big room bangers with tunes from video games, anime, and all your favorite geek anthems. He’s a strong advocate of indie labels Monstercat and GameChops, and gets his inspiration from artists like Ben Briggs and Porter Robinson.
